Outboards for '99

Article Abstract:

The outboard gasoline engines released by different manufacturers for 1999 offer improved fuel efficiency and lesser emissions. Both two-stroke and four-stroke engines offer improved top speeds while some come with electronic fuel injection systems. Engine weight has also been reduced.

New Merc outboards

Article Abstract:

The Mercury and Mariner 3.0 Litre outboards were tested on a variety of light and heavy boats in both single and twin installations. The motors have a good torque range and are engineered for long life in salt water conditions.

The top outboard motor manufacturers have come out with a large number of new models for 1995. A brief overview of the performance of some of these outboard motors is presented and discussed.
