Jomo Kenyatta - father of his country

Article Abstract:

Kenyatta helped fight for the independence of Kenya for more than 30 years from Great Britain. Once the region was declared a republic in Dec 1964, Kenyatta was elected president of the new country. Postage stamps commemorate his efforts and deeds as president.

Jamaica: 30th anniversary of independence

Article Abstract:

Jamaica celebrates its 30th year of independence from Great Britain in 1992. Three stamps were issued to commemorate the anniversary. Other stamps that depict the struggle for independence are described.
