Sales at the Bertram division of Bertram-Trojan Inc fell from $85 million in 1988 to $35 million in 1991, and the company declared bankruptcy in Mar 1992. New owner Gruppo Varasi has reorganized the firm and plans to concentrate on building sportfishing boats, hoping to market about half of them abroad.
