The excitement generated by natural history auctions is pushing up the prices of fossils and other natural history items. Museums and other public institutions fear that the demand generated by fossil marketing will put prices out of their budget range. Both institutions and private collectors need to see the benefits of working together.

Directing the dinosaurs

Article Abstract:

Movie director Steven Spielberg's latest movie 'Jurassic Park' stars dinosaurs and other prehistoric behemoths. Spielberg spent more than three years reseaching and designing how the dinosaurs should look and act in the movie. He was determined to make them as real and lifelike as possible.

The Moroccan town of Rissani is located 500 miles southeast of Casablanca and has become a center of Morocco's fossil trade. An extensive variety of trilobites has helped in making Rissani an internationally significant paleontological destination.
