Explorer Alexander Mackenzie was celebrated by a postage stamp issued by Canada Post in 1970. The Scottish-born Mackenzie explored the Canadian wilderness, and was the first European to cross the North American continent.

Mungo Park

Article Abstract:

Mungo Park was a Scottish explorer who ventured into Gambia in 1795 for Great Britain's African Association. Park was captured by Moors and eventually released. He entered the Segu kingdom in Jul 1796.
