A review of the antique automobiles ceremony

Article Abstract:

The Antique Automobile stamps were launched in Nov. 1995 in a ceremony held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. They feature US cars built from 1893 to 1901. These include the electricity-run 1898 Columbia, the 1901 steam- operated White and the 1893 Duryea, 1894 Haynes and 1899 Winton which used gasoline.

Eight nations including Azerbaijan, Ghana, Guyana, Maldives, Mali, Antigua, and Palau, issued stamps honoring the Beatle, John Lennon, on Dec 8, 1995. Various celebrities unveiled the stamps in NYC. The Hard Rock Cafe ceremony is described. The work of Lennon, the Beatles, and Yoko Ono, is discussed.

Armstrong first day ceremony in Queens, NY

Article Abstract:

The first day ceremony for the Louis Armstrong commemorative stamp was held at a modest house in Queens, NY, where Armstrong had lived for the latter part of his life. The ceremony is described as well as the efforts to open the house as a museum. Highlights in the jazz great's life are recounted.
