A finder for every fish

Article Abstract:

The 1999 edition of fishfinders combine high-resolution with computer technology. Using either liquid crystal display or video graphics array screens, the fishfinders display a fish's exact location in relation to the hull of the boat. Some models also include electronic chart plotters.

GPS: more than meets the eye

Article Abstract:

The latest generation of global positioning systems performs more than basic navigation tasks. They can be used to communicate via satellite or over VHF frequencies, to redraw charts speedily and even to help catch fish. Some of the new products are evaluated.
