The standard Olympus IS-20 DLX 35mm camera is compared with the new Olympus D-600L digital camera, priced at $1,299. The IS-20 DLX produces higher quality images at approximately one-third the price, but the D-600L represents an improvement in digital images and offers all the digital advantages.

Kodak's Royal Gold films were adapted for the Advanced Photo System cameras, and the differences between the regular films and the new films is remarkable. The new films are much crisper in color and detail, while reducing graininess. The APS Royal Gold 200 is a good all-purpose film.

Choosing the best color film to reproduce different scenes with desired effects requires experimentation. Due to technological advances, differences between print films are noticeable only under very close scrutiny. Color differences between slide films are more distinguishable.
