The 13th model airplane Tournament of Champions was held in Las Vegas, NV early in 1997. The latest race eliminated bonuses for multiwing aircraft, putting monoplanes and biplanes on equal footing. American Steve Stricker was the overall winner, taking the $30,000 top prize for his 47%-scale Extra 200 model aircraft.

The TR-260+ from J&K products blends the almost-ready-to-fly and aerobatic trends in airplane modeling. It's a large model that comes in sub-assemblies with skimpy instructions. Some parts fit poorly, but it flies very well and costs less than many competitors.

Article Abstract:
The 6th annual Best in the West Jet Rally was held on Feb. 1996 in Lancaster, CA, and was hosted by the Antelope Valley Tailwinds Club. The competition was topped by Chris Huhn, who flew a BVM Maverick Pro equipped with a BVM .91 engine and a Viojett fan.
