Article Abstract:

Picabo Street started skiing at a young age and won in several competitions during her teens. She became a member of the US Ski Team but was kicked out in 1990 due to her rebellious attitude. Street managed to change and became one of the most prominent stars of the team during the 1994 Winter Olympics.

Samuelson, Joan

Joan Samuelson is regarded as the greatest marathon runner in US history, having won an Olympic gold medal in 1984. During her peak years, Samuelson set several US and world marathon records, but quit competing intensely when she decided to get married and raise a family in the mid 1980s.
