Ernie Irvan's almost fatal accident on Aug 20, 1994 did not stop him from continuing his career as a race-car driver. After spending a month and a half in the hospital and a gruelling rehabilitation, he returned to the racetrack in 1995 and won the Miller 400 in 1997 on the same place where he met the accident.
