Gandhi, Sonia

Article Abstract:

Sonia Gandhi, widow of the late Rajiv Gandhi, was initially hesitant to enter politics. However, she conceded to the persuasions of the people and the Congress Party and entered politics. Some speculations say Gandhi's entry in Indian politics was triggered by her desire to prevent the demise of the Congress Party, which is considered a Gandhi heirloom.
