Paul Allen is more famous for starting Microsoft Corp with Bill Gates. His contributions were important to the development of Windows, Microsoft Word and the Microsoft mouse. Through Microsoft, Allen became a billionaire but began investing in several other companies when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease in 1983.
