Vav3 regulates osteoclast function and bone mass

Article Abstract:

Vav3, a Rho family guanine nucleotide exchange factor, is identified as an essential factor for stimulated osteoclast activation and bone density in vivo. The genetic and biochemical evidence is provided for the role of Syk tyrosine kinase as a crucial upstream regulator of Vav3 in osteoclasts stating that Vav3 could be considered as a new target for antiosteoporosis therapy.

Retinaldehyde represses adipogenesis and diet-induced obesity

Article Abstract:

A study showed that retinaldehyde present in rodent fat has a capability to inhibit adipogenesis and suppress peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-[gamma] and retinoid X receptor (RXR) responses by binging to retinol-binding proteins (CRBP1, RBP4).
