Article Abstract:
Psoriasis is a genetically determined, inflammatory and hyperproliferative skin disease described as a chronic relapsing and remitting scaling skin disease that may appear at any age in males and females and affect any part of skin surface. Topical preparations are recommended for mild psoriasis, but for patients who require more potent systemic therapy, phototherapy and photochemotherapy of ultraviolet radiation are effective treatments.

Skin diseases can be physically disabling, disfiguring, painful, intensely irritating and distracting. Relatively few skin diseases are life threatening, but they can all have severe psychological, physical and social effects.
