The influence of physician gender on practice satisfaction among obstetrician gynecologists

Article Abstract:

A study to investigate the hypothesis that female gender would positively affect job satisfaction among obstetrician gynecologists is presented. Findings reveal that in accommodating the increased proportion of women in obstetrics and gynecology, specialty needs to encourage men who have found a satisfying career to focus on the positive, and to discourage unsubstantial allegations about the negative effects of male gender in developing a satisfying career.

Article Abstract:

The role that various aspects play in determining career satisfaction among obstetrician/gynecologists is examined. It was observed that the overall positive disposition was associated with the activity of vaginal and cesarean delivery and the increased workload and decreased personal control were the two primary factors of dissatisfaction among the obstetrician/gynecologists who perform deliveries.
