Article Abstract:
The substitution of a single histidine residue present in the fetal cardiac Tnl isoform into the adult cardiac Tnl isoform at codon 164 results in the enhancement of cardiac performance in vitro and in vivo. Systolic and diastolic function is improved and reperfusion-associated ventricular arrhythmias are mitigated by the histine-modified Tnl in the isolated heart.
