Brucellosis

Article Abstract:

Brucellosis is a chronic granulomatous infection caused by intracellular bacteria and requires combined, protracted antibiotic treatment. The taxonomic characteristics of brucella species and biotypes are discussed along with the antibiotics used in the treatment of brucellosis in humans including doxycycline, rifampin, and streptomycin.

Sargramostim for active Crohn's disease

Article Abstract:

A randomized, placebo-controlled trial was conducted to study the implications of the sargramostim having activity in Crohn's disease. Results revealed that sargramostim therapy decreased disease severity and improved the quality of life in patients with active Crohn's disease.
