Stem cells and chronic lung disease
Article Abstract:
Stem cells are shown to contribute to the repair and regeneration of injured lungs, and thus the stem cell in the lung is perhaps critical in determining whether good or bad stem cells are involved in local repair and whether fibrosis predominates. The present knowledge in the area of stem cells for repair and regeneration of the lungs is reviewed.

T cells and NKT cells in the pathogenesis of asthma
Article Abstract:
The article discusses role of T receptor-positive cells and the natural killer T (NKT) cells in the onset and pathogenesis of different kinds of asthma in humans. Despite of exhibiting phenotypic similarities, these cells are found to indulge in different activities in different conditions.
