New home-based treatment for people with asthma

Article Abstract:

The clinical benefits of a new home-based treatment that eradicates house dust mites (HDMs) from the homes of people with asthma are discussed. The home treatment involves the application of a dry heat/steam/hot-air process to all the mattresses in the home of the asthma patient and the installation of a ventilation unit in their bedrooms. The treatment can also benefit people with pollen allergies due to the environmental filtration and the ventilation system used.
