Article Abstract:

That the selective killing of human cancer cells to the exclusion of normal cells is always an attractive area in cancer research. This article examines how inhibition of superoxide dismutase by estrogen derivatives can lead to the selective killing of human leukemia cells in vitro.

Telomeres: has cancer's Achilles' heel been exposed?

Article Abstract:

Inhibiting the enzyme telomerase may cause cancer regression. Telomerase maintains telomeres, which in turn makes cells immortal. Inhibiting telomerase would cause the loss of telomeres from the ends of chromosomes, which would inhibit cell division.
