Changing clinical presentation and survival in HIV-associated tuberculosis after highly active antiretroviral therapy
Article Abstract:
Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) appears to improve the prognosis of HIV patients who have tuberculosis. In a study of 118 HIV patients with tuberculosis, 80% of those diagnosed between 1997 and 1998 were alive at one year, compared to 65% of those diagnosed between 1995 and 1996.

Changes in neurocognitive performance in a cohort of patients treated with HAART for 3 years
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on HIV-associated neurocognitive inpairment in patients treated with highly active antiretroviral therapy. The authors have investigated the changes in these patients after the treatment, and they have concluded that the ongoing HIV-related neurologic damage can occur even during the antiretroviral treatment.
