Group appointments have their benefits

Article Abstract:

Doctor Fullerton and McMillin, the two busiest physicians at Family Medical Center of North Garland, part of the Baylor Health Care System are using the drop-in group medical appointment model to meet the demands of the patients. Patients are asked to register in advance and a 90-minute group appointment is offered once a week to returning patients with chronic conditions, like arthritis, hypertension or diabetes.

Physicians finding plenty of NPs, PAs- but at a price

The increasing number of nurse practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) is making them plentiful, leading to expansion of clinical roles, and versatility and cost effectiveness making them more attractive to practices. However, as the demand for physician extenders is keeping up with the supply, physicians are finding it difficult to keep up with the bargain basement deals.
