Article Abstract:
Delegates to the Interim Meeting of the American Medical Assn (AMA) approved of its efforts to stop physician fraud and misconduct. The AMA has unsuccessfully lobbied for legislation to prohibit overcharging for services and other financial fraud. A Board of Trustees report suggested enlisting private organizations in efforts to detect medical fraud on a local level in order to decrease the burden on state medical societies.

Article Abstract:
The American Medical Assn (AMA) Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs has released guidelines regarding the role of physicians in executions. The AMA issued the guidelines because many of the 37 states that permit executions specify some type of physician participation.
