Block buster

Article Abstract:

The effective use of community nursing skills and budgetary measures have helped a Sussex-based health trust reduce the number of hospital admissions by patients suffering chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Patients were tested in their own home for potential problems associated with COPD, with some receiving additional breathing equipment, such as nebulizers or inhalers which helped reduce symptoms and prevented the need for hospitalization.
