A mental health nurse has given her views and experiences on mental health nursing along with the opportunities in mental health. Becky Auton, a modern matron on the Long Fox Unit, Weston General Hospital, part of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, is involved on a trust-wide basis in policy development and in addressing some of the key issues affecting the whole NHS.

One trustEs approach to translating the Essence of Care document, a national document, into a workable, local, pragmatic model by introducing an electronic toolkit is described. Benchmarking tool development demonstrates an effective collaboration between clinical and technical experts in producing the final package.
