A clearer picture of abuse

Article Abstract:

Data published by the Department of Health in June 2006 show that one in every 22 NHS staff working in an acute trust or PCT was assaulted in 2004-2005, a total of 60,385 attacks. It is startlingly clear that the public perception of A&E staff being most at risk is unfounded, and in fact, those most at risk are the people working in the community in mental health and learning disabilities, where one out of every five staff is a victim.
