Article Abstract:

A case study of young woman of Italian descent with anemia and evidence of increase iron stores is presented whose father, a paternal aunt, and one sister had Diamond-Blackfin anemia and mother had beta-thalassemia trait. The genetic studies indicate that both deletional and nondeletional mutations were present in the patient's family and therefore might account for her elevated levels of hemoglobin F and anemia.

The article discusses the case of a 5-month-old girl who is seen in the pediatric dermatology clinic because of a rash that developed a red papule on her cheek at the age of 3 months, followed by a generalized eruption. She had been well except for the skin lesions and hence, a diagnostic procedure is performed.

Case 19-2004: a 12-year-old boy with fatigue and eosinophilia

Article Abstract:

The symptoms, and identification of eosinophilia are explained with the diagnosis report from a 12-year-old boy with fatigue and eosinophilia. The test report shows the presence of precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia with eosinophilia and translocation.
