Wanted: healthcare workers

Article Abstract:

The statistical figure on the number of required healthcare workers estimated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics is estimated to be around 2.2 million as replacements and 3.1 million for new positions by the end of 2010. Even in the case of nurses, the Department of Health and Human Services estimates that the shortage would touch one million by the end of 2020. Currently the shortage of nurses is most severe in the urban markets and it is contributing to mid-single-digit wage inflation at most hospitals. The hospital industry is taking up required steps to curb the shortage issue.
