Article Abstract:

People in nursing homes improve their abilities in concentration, memory and imagination by gathering together and reading poetry, writing, remembering important and dramatic events in their lives, and acting out their feelings. These techniques have also proved to be a positive element for renewed creative vitality in the aged.

Quest for quality: its time has come!

Article Abstract:

Nursing homes need to develop quality assurance programs to evaluate the effectiveness of services provided. The outcome of services rather than process of services was evaluated by the American Health Care Association. Patients, their families and visitors were included in the evaluation.

Nursing homes should have a Quality of Life Department the goal of which is to improve the quality of life of the residents through education, communication, knowledge of relevant legislation and encouragement in establishment of interpersonal relationships.
