Priority setting in health care: an axiomatic bargaining approach

Article Abstract:

The application of the axiomatic bargaining theory on the study of the different rules for dividing the health care budget between two patients is examined. This method permits the assumptions underlying the division rules to be explicitly stated. A general characterization of the results when using these rules is also provided when there are changes in the opportunity set.
