Infectious disease: Virco: HIV resistance test

Article Abstract:

Baltimore, MD-based Virco has provided physicians a phenotype HIV resistance test (Antiviorgram) which aids the physician in a choice of therapies. According to findings presented at the 4th International Workshop on HIV Drug Resistance and Treatment Strategies in Spain, patients whose physicians use this method received more active drugs and responded significantly better than those who did not.

Raleigh, NC-based PharmaNetics Inc. has signed a letter of intent with Bridgewater, NJ-based Aventis Pharmaceuticals to develop and supply a new theranostic test to use with Aventis Pharmaceuticals' low-molecular weight heparin Enoxaparin.
