Article Abstract:
The creation of health among older people with chronic illness is explored through a phenomenological study that tests the effectiveness of health promotion intervention. The research subjects are being studied for their incidence of hospitalization, home care services, self-esteem, and other factors. Specially trained nurses visit the patients to assess how they manage their health, and what health and life mean to them. Patients can create solutions to their health care problems. Nurses should concentrate on the patient's life and health, rather than on the chronic illness.

Article Abstract:
Resilient persons are able to use adversity as a stimulus for emotional and behavioral growth. Nursing is concerned with resilience as a personality trait which aids in healing from the shock of disaster, although there is some disagreement about what elements constitute resilience. A model defines resilience as a construct with dispositional, relational, situational and philosophical behavior patterns.
