Adjusting to changes in health: implications for cost-effectiveness analysis
Article Abstract:
A model in which individuals incur adjustment costs associated is introduced with adaptations made following the changes in their health. The model revealed that when health is multi-dimensional, and adjustment costs are incorporated, arriving at a consensus on even ordinal rankings of health states becomes impossible.

Within-year variation in hospital utilization and its implications for hospital costs
Article Abstract:
The daily occupancy in California hospitals has been measured and variation in hospital utilization at the daily level is examined. It has been found that there is substantial day-to-day variation in hospital utilization and noticeable differences between hospitals for variation in utilization.
