Reward patterns of fair solutions

Article Abstract:

Most solutions proposed in literature on fair allocations favor the preferences of agents, creating distribution patterns that reward certain agents at the expense of others. It is shown that among the basic models with private goods and decreasing returns, the Equal Income Competitive Equilibrium model favors eccentric preferences while egalitarian-equivalent solutions reward agents who prefer certain resources.
