Article Abstract:
Media coverage of the impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton was found by most Americans to be very uninspiring. For much of the time, reporters had very little real news, and they were therefore forced to fill in the time with irrelevant comments. All aspects of the trial were discussed in great detail by journalists, politicians and political analysts, who failed to realize that ordinary Americans had lost interest. Most people simply ignored the media coverage of the trial and got on with everyday life.
