Article Abstract:

Bomb detection operations should be the integration of different technologies and the human element. Some of the technologies are computed tomography, X-rays, metal detectors and trace detection units. The human element includes manual searches and the determination by operators that some bags could contain bombs. The increasing speed of bomb detection equipment had led the FAA to reconsider the human factor in the performance of the systems.
