Yankee awards for 1996

Article Abstract:

First prize for poetry went to Noel Smith for his poem 'Early April.' Awards for painting went to Phyllis Bezanson for 'Soft Sunset,' Ralph Bush for 'Frozen Harbor' and Eric Jacobsen for 'Storm.' The award for printmaking went to Nancy Nemec for her work 'Harvest.'

Article Abstract:

A man who as a child appreciated going to church but later went through periods of atheism and agnosticism, is amazed at how much it means to him again in his 40's. Even more than for the spiritual nourishment he comes to appreciate it for its sense of community.
