VA nixes health plan

Article Abstract:

Veterans Administration (VA) Sec Edward J. Derwinski opposed a bill allowing nonservice-connected disabled veterans on Medicare to seek helpat selected VA hospitals. He believes that some provisions in the bill such as granting authority to waive copayments will be detrimental to the health-care industry. Some veterans are opposed with Derwinski's decision.
