Article Abstract:

Caldwell experienced near disasters during his trip aboard the 26-foot long Mai Miti Vavau. The boat was nearly overturned by a huge wave in the Indian Ocean and was almost hit by a supertanker near Durban, South Africa. The trip began on June 1, 1995 in Honolulu, and was completed Sep 26, 1996.

Todd Eldredge: breaking the ice

Article Abstract:

Todd Eldredge won the singles World Figure Skating Championship in 1996, becoming the first American man to capture the title since 1988. Eldredge has overcome physical ailments during his career, but he is looking forward to the next World Championship competitions.

Canine cops

Article Abstract:

Police dogs are used to chase and apprehend criminals and to search for illegal drugs. The dogs live at home as pets with their police handlers. German shepherds are a favorite breed for this work because of their even temper.
