The thunderbolt bird soars again
Article Abstract:
The peregrine falcon can dive at a speed of 175 miles per hour, making it the world's fastest bird. The species became threatened in the 1960s, but a conservation program has released more than 4,300 peregrine falcons in both wilderness and urban areas in the US.

The mountain men

The mountain men were among the first individuals to explore the American West. These men were expert outdoorsmen who knew the country as few white men did. Brief biographies of four of the most famous mountain men are presented.
