Article Abstract:

Most of the works of Russian war photographer Dmitri Baltermants' have never been seen in the West. The photographers photos evoked the emotions of the Russian people during World War II. His photojournalist works where exhibited for the first time at New York's International Center of Photography.

The cavern of little monsters

Article Abstract:

Geologist Cristian Lascu discovered a hidden cavern near Mangalia, Romania while determining the feasibility of a nuclear power plant site. It contained an isolated ecosystem, untouched by outside forces or sunlight. Strange creatures evolved in the darkness.

Call of the wild

Article Abstract:

Renee Askins is leading the fight to reintroduce wolves to Yellowstone National Park. The wolf once thrived in the area, but now there are none in the National Park. The Wolf Fund hopes to have Canadian wolves introduced into the park by 1994.
