Stealing wisdom, stealing seeds: the neem tree of India becomes a symbol of greed

Article Abstract:

The neem tree of India has many uses. Its seed contains azadirachtin, a chemical compound used in medical products. Accessing this has been known to Indians ages ago at virtually no cost. Western chemical companies accessing and profiting from the neem tree have made what had been a free source of medicine now exorbitantly priced.
