The American World War II Orphans Network (AWON) provides valuable resources for people who lost a father in World War II. AWON directs war orphans to official records regarding their father's service, it puts the them in touch with their fathers' friends, and helps them to come to term with their feelings of abandonment and grief.

The World War II generation

Article Abstract:

The generation of US citizens that experienced World War II learned the value of teamwork and community as well as international involvement. This generation was more mobile than previous ones and was engaged in massive infrastructure building.
