Premier Jacques Parizeau maintains that Quebec will benefit from sovereignty, especially economically. He claims that sovereignty would lead to lesser taxes and an improved standard of living. He also scoffs at what economists say will be steep transition costs if Quebec separates from Canada.

Thorncliffe's crusading principal

Article Abstract:

Principal Louis B. Yaniw was able to transform the once notorious Thorncliffe Community School into a model elementary school. Although the school was located in a troubled area, he was able to provide students with a safe and wholesome environment.
