Do ask, do tell: TV talk shows may be crass and voyeuristic, but they give a voice to those who have been silenced

Breaking silence as gay or lesbian on daytime television talk shows is a courageous political act. However, it comes with a caveat: those who are given the chance to talk would do well to remember that ways of being exploited are numerous.
