Article Abstract:

Margaret Pokrony, a longtime Back Bay gardener and former president of the Garden Club describes the way she converted her parking area into her secret garden with an aim to create shady, cool cocoon outisde her kitchen with an all-white theme. Some of her plantings in the garden include hydrangea and a flowering Akebia quinata, as well as clematis, cherry laurel, ferns, hostas, European ginger, azaleas, ground covers, and a perennial geranium.
