A boy, a dream and a dinosaur

Article Abstract:

The death of Mackie Colvin pushed his parents to go on with their planned children's mall as their tribute to their young child. Despite the obstacles they met in doing the project, Deb and Pete Colvin never gave up. On Aug 15, 1998, Mackie's World opened, complete with the dinosaur that Mackie wanted.

Following the death of her daughter from liver cancer, Anna Ling Pierce founded the Ali Pearce Endowment Fund to raise money for pediatric cancer research at the University of Massachusetts Cancer Center. The activities of the center are described.
