Issues concerning a variety of new cookery books that focus on home cooking are presented. Reference is made to Julia's Kitchen Wisdom by Julia Child, How to Cook Without A Book by Pam Anderson and Italian Farmhouse Cookbook by Susan Herrmann Loomis.

The 1980s produced new cookbooks that contained flavorful recipes based on healthful eating. Jane Brody's books and the American Heart Association cookbooks emphasize less fat and are considered classics. A variety of excellent books is described.
