Textbook young vintage ports: 1997s in bottle live up to their heralded reputation

Forty-one port wines bottled in 1997 are evaluated. The $750 Quinta Do Noval Vintage Port Nacional 1997 received the top rating with 99 points out of 100. Other top ports that are less than $100 are bottled by Nieport, Dow, Delaforce, Taylor Fladgate, Warre and Calem.

Taking sides in port's double vintage match

Article Abstract:

A comparison of the 1991 and 1992 vintages of port from Portugal's wineries is presented. Both years produced outstanding products. Regardless of the port buyer's decision, both vintages will surely improve through the years.
